Evaluation- How did you attract/address your audience?

When wanting to attract my target audience I thought it was highly important to include the latest artists, gossip and things that young people would be interested in. There is a huge difference between older people and younger people for example the interests and the different types of magazines they would read. Young people are highly influenced by things they read about in magazines and what they watch on TV. I wanted my magazine to attract the right audience and by doing this I wanted to include pictures that relate to young people. Headlines and pull quotes that would highly influence my target audience. All teenagers/ young people long to feel part of a group and I think music brings together peoples interests  to share music. I wanted my magazine to bring together young people that share a massive interest in R&B and hip hop music. I did this by creating headlines that included stories about drake, Frank ocean and Chris Brown. I wanted this to attract my audience. This is how i set out to attract my audience and before i could do that i had to ask my audience questions so that i was sure on their needs and what would suit them.

When creating my magazine I thought it was important to find out as much information from my target audience as possible. I carried out a questionnaire for my target audience and below I have displayed the results. The first questioned as I asked was if you were to buy a music magazine how often would you buy one? I thought this question was very important when producing my magazine because I would need to know when to produce it and how often a new addition came out. As you can see from my results more than half and the majority of people said that they would buy the magazine once a month this had shown clearly that producing my magazine once a month would be ideal and suit them best. The second question I asked was looking at this table of social class where would you rate yourself? i displayed a table of social class you had to choose between a grade which would suit you best raging from upper middle class and middle class to working class, unemployed and dependents  I thought it was important to find out who was more likely to purchase my music magazine the results show a mix between the different social classes. C1 and C2 social grade came out the highest which meant that people that are lower middle class and skilled working class. Even though they came out the highest there was a still a high per cent from AB and DE in the social grade. The third question I asked was what attracts you most to a music magazine? I thought it was important to find out what my target thought and what attracts them the most. The majority thought the celebrity story was the most important as well as the headline. This was a important question to ask because it gave me an idea what to include on my DPS and my main headline. The fourth question i asked was where would you consider buying your magazine from? It showed that most would purchase their magazine from the supermarkets even though results show a range of ways how to purchase their music magazines. The fifth question was how much would you pay for a music magazine? I wanted to find out what price would suit my target audience and how much they would consider to pay. The results they would pay mostly £1-2 this was a huge help because it helped me decide the price of my magazine because it showed a clear understanding of how much they thought would be acceptable to pay.
